Radial - utilizaing two fingers over the thumb side of the person's wrist, pressing lightly
over the radial artery. Your thumb use never to be used. Normal radial pulse of an
adults is 60 to 100 beats pre minute with an average of 80 beats per minute
Brachial Pulse- obtianed by placing the index & 2nd figer on the inside of the elbow with
the palm of the hand facing up.
Carotid Pulse- Placing the index & 2nd finger on
either side of the neck running them along side of the outer edge of the trachera
windpipe.
Aprical Pulse- It is obtained by utilizaing a stethoscope. The diaphragm of the
stethoscope is placed approximately mid- nipple line on the left side of the chest. Count
for 1 min & between 60 to 100 beats per min is normal.
