“Listening well and talking clearly are two of your most critical skills for keeping your

employees headed in the right direction, making progress toward their destinations, are not on

collision courses with each other. Without effective communication, your department is doomed

as an airborne plane that’s lost contact with the ground.” (Rosner, Halcrow, Levin’s, 2001) A

huge factor to most of the problems is the employees are refusing to listen to each other. I have

found in my own work that sometimes two people are saying the same thing but are not hearing

each other which then turns into a fight or argument. Eventually when someone steps in as the

middleman the topic being discussed eventually comes out and the two people who were fighting

realize they were saying the same thing all along. I think this would help all the employees, but I

also think that this would help Terrance, the main leader as the boss. Another protocol that I

think would help would be to make a plan and stick with it, to many times in my own leadership

have we ventured from the plan and have fallen. If you write out a plan and goals for that plan

most of the time people can follow a path or work towards a goal. Another protocol that I would

implement is respect towards each other, how are you to work with a team of people who do not

respect each other. As for the leader of the company this is huge, he even disrespects his wife in

front of the staff, if that show he is treating his wife, then it makes me think how he will treat his

staff or others that he works with. There is also a lot of hatred between staff members such as

Fred and Eric or Gladys and Melissa. They casually throw out their opinion on other people’s

jobs. This can cause internal bomb after internal bomb for a company, we have to learn to work

together, you do not have to love the people you work with, but you have to have common

decency to try to get along or just be civil during the workday towards each other.
