Section 5 of Ontario standard owners policy - Answer Protects insurance by enabling them to

What is needed to claim under uninsured automobile coverage - Answer - Insured must be
legally entitled to recover meaning the uninsured or unidentified motorist is at fault
- such rates are limited in Ontario by the verbal threshold which describes types of injuries that
must be suffered before victim, can commence legal action
What payments from automobile insurance policies are required - Answer Amounts that
insured under the contract are legally entitled to recover for
1. bodily injuries, resulting from an accident involving an automobile.
2. bodily injury to, or the death of a person insured under the contract, resulting from an
accident involving an automobile.
3. Coverage for damage to and loss of use of the automobile, and or damage to contents.
For death or bodily injury insured person's include - Answer Occupant, the insured, insured's
spouse, I need dependent relative of either who
1. Our occupants of an uninsured automobile
2. Pedestrian struck by uninsured or unidentified automobile.
For damage to contents or insured automobile, insured items include: - Answer - only the
automobiles owner is considered to be insured
- For damage to contents. The owner of the continents is considered to be insured.
Claim procedures for bodily injury or death If the third party is on identified, the following
actions are required: - Answer - Accident must be reported to police within 24 hours, or as
soon as practicable
- Insured must give insurer a written statement within 30 days, setting out details of the
accident. Must say whether accident was caused by someone who can't be identified and detail
extent of injuries suffered and property damaged
Claim procedures for bodily injury, or death If the third party is uninsured: - Answer - Insured
must give the insurer written notice within 30 days of the accident or as soon as possible
