ASC: Automated Shift Callout - ANS ✔✔a technology tool used by Staffing Services to send shift
offers to employees via interactive voice calls, text messages, email and the web. ASC applies to
employees who are currently scheduled by one of Fraser Health Staffing Services Short CAl
centres in ESP. Asc is used to offer short term needs(<48hrs)
AV Indicator - ANS ✔✔A small, colored box to the left of the employees name in the Relief Pool
grid which summarizes the employees availability according to a color code. Green signifies
availability and red unavailability, while yellow indicates an unknown status.
Bank - ANS ✔✔an accumulator for any type of hours entitlement that an employee earns. (for
example, vacation, sick, compensation time, holidays, or banked overtime)
Baseline - ANS ✔✔the total number of shifts required to provide the level of service indicated
for a unit/department
Booked off shift - ANS ✔✔an employee is "booked off" of a shift they were scheduled to work.

Console - ANS ✔✔The Console provides a consolidated view of all the scheduling needs for a

EARL: Employee Absence Reporting Line - ANS ✔✔A system that all Fraser Health employees
are required to use to report absences from work. The system is available 24/7 so a call be
made at anytime. The number for Earl is 604-605-EARL(3275) or 1-877-FHA_EARL(342-3275)
Earning Codes - ANS ✔✔often referred to as codes/coding, these are numeric tracking codes
attached to shifts to indicate the reason an employee is scheduled on or scheduled off.
Employees status - ANS ✔✔term referring to an employee's employment with Fraser Health.
