o Associate's degree in engineering technology with 4 years of alarm industry
experience; OR
o Current certification by an approved national training program with 5 years of
alarm industry experience covering the actual installation of alarms
Qualifying Agent Responsibilities
A Designated Qualifying Agent (QA) must:
• Be a full-time employee of the alarm systems contractor
• Be in "responsible charge" of the contractor's operations
• Notify the Commissioner within 30 days of leaving employment
• Notify the Commissioner within 30 days of any business address change

• Notify the Commissioner within 30 days of any known arrest or conviction
• Respond in writing within 20 business days to any complaint
