, CASE OVERVIEW
A 13-year-old female presents to the pediatric outpatient clinic with a two-week
history of worsening generalized itching accompanied by a rash involving the
flexural areas of both elbows, behind both knees, and the neck.
The patient's mother reports that the itching has become severe enough to interfere
with sleep and school concentration. Several over-the-counter moisturizing creams
have provided minimal improvement.
The patient denies fever, sore throat, recent illness, or exposure to individuals with
contagious skin diseases.
The purpose of this simulation is to evaluate pediatric pruritic skin disorders while
developing differential diagnosis skills.
