Midbrain, Hindbrain)
Foetus is 5 weeks old – Forebrain and Hindbrain split into 2
cavities. Forebrain splits into anterior and Hindbrain splits
into posterior.
Foetus is 6 weeks old- Cerebellum can be seen
Foetus is 20 weeks old- Medulla Oblongata develops
connecting the Brain and Spinal Cord
Birth – Cerebellum is 3 times its original size
Birth to 3 years- 700-1009 new neural connections are made
every second
3 years old – Brain reaches 80% of its size
Cerebellum – Controls motor movements
Medulla Oblongata – Controls involuntary responses
