VFR Cruising Altitude or Flight Level
(a) when operating below 18,000 feet MSL and
(1) On a magnetic course of 0-179 degrees any odd thousand foot MSL altitude +500
feet.
or
(2) 180-359 any even thousand foot MSL +500 feet.

Flight Plan Info Required
(1) All that is required in 91.153
(2) Except as provided in (b) an alternate airport.
(b) Alternate is required when... 123 rule.
(c) Alternate weather minima.
(1) Instrument approach procedure:
(a) precision = 600' and 2SM
(b) non precision = 800' and 2SM
or prescribed for that airport.
if no IAP, weather must allow a descent from MEA to approach and landing under
basic VFR conditions.
(d) Cancellation- upon completing the flight IFR flight plan must be cancelled with
ATC or FSS.
