I think that what I was most supprised about was that Candace seems to be
nonchalant about her current situation. She is aware that her boyfriend is bad news,
but is carrying another child of his. I feel like she has very little motherly instinct, and
I say this due to the drug paraphanalia, beer bottles, cigarettes, and gun laying out in
the open with children currently present in the house. Her I feel she needs serious
intervention, a safe home, a better job, child care services, substance abuse
treatment, prenatal care, the works. There is a lot to unpack with her situation.

Maybe a misconception might be that she knows she is in a bad situation, but
chooses to stay in it. She may feel overwhelmed, and not know where to turn to for
help. She does state that she does not let her boyfriend watch the children due to his
anger problems and drug use, and maybe she is afraid to leave him? Maybe she is a
victim of Domestic Partner Violence? It's possible her oldest child acts out due to his
homelife, and being that it is so unstable, and he often has the role of a caregiver, it's
a lot for a kid to handle, and possible misdiagnosed?
