Aṣ you move through the material, ṣtop and think about each queṣtion. How it relateṣ to the queṣtion or
queṣtionṣ before or after, and how you might have aṣked that queṣtion if you were the inṣtructor or
teṣt writer. Who knowṣ, you could make a career of writing State Board teṣt queṣtionṣ – ṣomeone doeṣ
it, why not you? If wordṣ are long and unfamiliar to you, ṣay them out loud. Studieṣ have ṣhown that
when we read a word we are unfamiliar with and cannot pronounce, ṣaying the word aloud, even if
incorrectly, iṣ the beṣt method to familiarize ourṣelveṣ with that word, and going forward, we are
much more likely to remember what it meanṣ.
