INSTRUCTIONS FOR A TAKE-HOME EXAM.
READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE
YOU
ANSWER THE EXAMINATION QUESTIONS. PLEASE NOTE THAT
THIS EXAMINATION USES TURNITIN SYSTEM
1. The examination paper consists of 7 pages and counts 100 marks.
2. It consists of 2 questions. Answer ALL of the questions.
3. The duration of the examination is 24 hours, starting on Monday,
01 JUNE 2026, 10:00 AM to Tuesday, 02 JUNE 2026, 10:00 AM.
Your answer file must be submitted via the myUnisa platform under
Assessment 3 on 02 JUNE 2026; BEFORE 10:00 AM (South
African Standard Time).
4. This is an open-book examination. You may consult your prescribed
study material during the examination.
4.1 This examination will be using the Turnitin system

,5. SUBMISSION OF YOUR EXAMINATION ANSWER FILE
5.1 Your answer to this portfolio or take-home examination must be
submitted online on the myUnisa platform.
5.2 Once the site has loaded, select Assessment 3 from the activities
menu.
5.3 You are allowed to attach ONE PDF file.

5.4 You may click Remove to remove the attachment if you selected the
wrong file.

5.5 When you are ready and satisfied that you have uploaded the correct
answer file, click the Submit button to complete your assessment
submission.
5.6 If you are not yet ready to submit, you may click Preview to preview the
submission or Save Draft to save your submission and submit it later.
Click Cancel to exit the assessment without saving or submitting.

5.7 Time permitting, you will be allowed to resubmit your exam file twice.

5.8 Your submission on the myExams platform must be made in one Adobe
PDF document. Only the last file uploaded and submitted will be
marked. Create a file in Microsoft Word and save it as an Adobe PDF. No
other type of submission of your examination answers will be accepted.
Neither scanned typed answer files nor handwritten scripts will be
accepted.

6. Add your student number and the module code in the file name. That will
help you select the correct document to upload during submission.
7 You are advised to preview your submission (answer script) to
ensure legibility and that the correct answer script file has
been uploaded.
8. The cover page for your take-home exam must include your name,
student number and the module code.

, 8.1 This exam will use Turnitin software. You are required to submit TYPED
responses only (scanned handwritten scripts or scanned typed scripts will
not be accepted for marking).
8.2 If you fail to provide a typed response, your submission will be
disregarded. In such cases, you will be awarded a non-compliance with
the proctoring tools outcome on your academic records.
8.3 You are required to accept the mandatory End User License Agreement
(EULA) pop-up to activate the Turnitin software. Students who have not
accepted the EULA will be considered to have violated Unisa's
examination rules, and their answer scripts WILL NOT BE MARKED.
9. Your take-home exam must be typed. The maximum length is TWELVE
(12) pages (which excludes the cover page and the
bibliography/reference list). Students who exceed the said limit will be
penalised.
11. Your submission on the myUnisa platform (Assessment 3) must be
made in the form of one PDF document. Only the last file uploaded and
submitted will be marked.
11.1 The exam answer file you submit must not be password-protected or
uploaded as a “read-only” file.
11.2 Your examination answer file will not be marked if:
11.2.1 you send your examination answer file via email.
11.2.2 you submit the incorrect examination answer file. A mark of 0% will be
awarded.
11.2.3 you submit your exam answer file on an unofficial examination
platform.
11.2.4 you submit your examination answer file in the incorrect file format.
11.2.5 you submit a password-protected document.
11.2.6 you submit your examination answer file late.
11.2.7 you submit your answer file from a registered student account that is
not yours.
