Most assembly occupancies are required to have a fire
safety evacuation plan that provides for the safety of
building occupants in the event of fire or other emergency.

passenger terminal OR


Any event that needs temporary place of assembly permit
(TPA) for example - festivals, outdoor concerts or other
similar outdoor public gatherings.

How many place of assembly safety personnel will be
required? - Answer-Generally, the fire safety and
evacuation plan for your particular facility and/ or the Fire

temporary place of assembly situations, the number of
minimum safety personnel will be indicated in the TPA
permit.




The safety personnel should be maintained continuously
during the public gathering. For TPA events the safety
personnel are recommended to arrive at the premises at
least 1 hour prior to the events and to stay until all
audience members leave. In some cases, the Fire
Department personnel may be on scene and provide
additional direction on the number of required place of
assembly safety personnel or other fire protection
measures that may be required.


Does the certificate of fitness holder need to keep his
certificate with him? - Answer-The Certificate of Fitness
holder must keep the certificates of fitness upon his or her
person, or otherwise readily available for inspection by any
representative of the department.
