Integration of Faith and Learning- Amazon
The company was established by Jeff Bezos in 1994 from his garage in Bellevue,
Washington. At the onset of the company, it was an online marketplace dealing with books, but
over the years, the company grew to be one of the largest online retailers in the World. Amazon
has multiple subsidiaries including Amazon Web Service, Kuiper Systems, Amazon Lab 126,
and zoox. However, it is important to note Amazon acquired Whole Foods for $13.5 billion in
2017. It would be difficult to question the success of Amazon, as it has led to making Bezos the
richest man in the World in 202. They employ 825,000 and with their products and success, they
have simplified household all over the United States and around the world. As these are
wonderful accomplishments, it leaves some challenged because of some struggling in poverty
while both Amazon and Bezos remain to gain their wealth. Amazon does focus on the
community, just after customers and employees, but it does offer more options like Amazon
Smile. The company must also address governmental interests regarding consumer protection
and international retail. These considerations show that Amazon’s corporate social responsibility
strategy is satisfactory but has room for improvement (Zhu & Liu, 2018).
Throughout the years, Amazon has been possibly unfairly judged because of how much
money it has made for those at the top, but this does not quite seem to add up, or does it? It was
just over a year ago that Bezos sent his own space rocket, the Blue Origin (Thompson, 2022).
That caused quite the stir as the going price to ride into the edge of space was over 1 million
dollars (Thompson, 2022). Bezos has never been under a great deal of scrutiny as Amazon has
become even more important with people all over the world afraid to shop, ordered to stay home,
or due to some people panic buying. Amazon’s founder has committed $10 Billion to help
counter the effects of climate change. It is a good time for Bezos to make the donation. He’s
