, Question 1

Here are the step by step to guide you for this Q1 and a drawing imitating how they
must be done.

1. Set up your guidelines (VERY IMPORTANT)

Use a sharp pencil (HB or 2H) and a ruler.

Draw light horizontal guide lines:

• Draw a baseline (where letters sit)

• Measure 5 mm up → draw the top line (this is the height of your capital letters)

• Leave a 2 mm gap

• Draw the next baseline for the next line of text

So each row looks like this:

Top line ───────────── (5 mm above baseline)
LETTERS
Baseline ─────────────

(2 mm space)

Top line ─────────────
Baseline ─────────────

2. How to measure 5 mm correctly

Use your ruler:

• 1 cm = 10 mm

• So 5 mm = half a centimetre

Place your ruler vertically:

• Mark 0 mm (baseline)

• Mark 5 mm (top line)

Keep this consistent for ALL lines.

3. Letter proportions (keep it neat)
