◉ Meningitis. Answer: Inflammation/swelling of protective
membranes/fluid of spinal cord. Causes- bacteria, viruses and parasites.
S/s: early flu like (fever, body aches, fatigue). Later: confusion, different
walking, rash, vomiting, severe headahce and stiff neck


◉ Meningitis checks. Answer: Brudzinski: flex neck, hips knees.
Kernig: lie on back and straighten leg.


◉ Meningitis treatment. Answer: Refer to ER. Lumbar puncture ;
bacteria/WBC. IV abx. And fluids.


◉ absence seizure. Answer: Diagnosed by EEG. Treatment/ should
outgrow. Zarontin
