● Assembly Area. Answer: A designated area outside of a building to which building
occupants are directed to report upon implementation of a partial evacuation or evacuation in
accordance with a fire safety and evacuation plan or an emergency action plan.

● Building Information Card. Answer: The commissioner may require by rule the
preparation of a building information card depicting and/or setting forth the relevant fire safety
information for a building or occupancy for which a fire safety and evacuation plan is required
to be submitted to the department pursuant. A building information card, when required to be
prepared, shall be maintained on the premises and made available upon request to any
department representative.

● Building Occupants. Answer: All persons in the building, including employees, building

circumstances and procedures for the in-building relocation, partial evacuation or evacuation
of building occupants, required or as appropriate for such occupancy or building type, in
response to a fire.

● FSP Staff. Answer: The individuals identified in a fire safety and evacuation plan as
responsible for the implementation of such plan.

● Fire Safety/EAP Director. Answer: The employee designated by the owner to perform
duties of such position, and who possesses the requisite qualifications and training, as set
forth in Fire Rules.
