Communicable Diseases and Immunizations i
This lesson provides an overview of
communicable diseases and
childhood immunizations.
Communicable diseases are
diseases that are transmitted from
one person to another directly or
indirectly. Many communicable
diseases can be eradicated or
lessened with immunizations. The
nurse plays a critical role in health
promotion and advocacy by
educating about the importance of
immunizations and following the
recommended vaccination schedule.
