With the problems of finding the files for patients in the health information
department, there is a need to adopt a technology system that will ease the finding and
processes of files within healthcare. An Electronic Health Record (EHR) is an electronic
version of storing the patient's information, which helps ease the process of finding the
right files for the patients. It is worth noting that the EHR has various interfaces, including
the evidence-based decision support as well as quality management, to ensure that all the
activities of the department meet the quality standards (Blokdyk, 2019). In this report, I
will explain the need to adopt the EHR.

The areas which require the innovation is the health records and information
department. The department is responsible for receiving and welcoming and registering the
patients into the facility. Moreover, they are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality
of the patient's confidential information and retrieving such information when required
(Blokdyk, 2019). Since these functions are very crucial, it is necessary to upgrade it so that
the processes can be more effective and save more time.
To approach the health records and information department, I will start by
explaining to them the importance of the functions being carried out in the department.
Then, I will inform the department employees on the need to adopt more technologically
advanced methods of carrying out such tasks. I will also introduce the Electronic Health
Records and how it will enable the attainment of effective tasks within the shortest time
possible.
