your choice using the supporting document “Direct Instruction Lesson Plan Template”

title, subject, grade/level/setting, and prerequisite skills for the lesson.

This lesson can be adapted to cover cross disciplinary concepts between
Science and History by introducing how weather events stemming from human
industrialization throughout history impacts weathering of minerals. I can modify
the instruction by providing a more in depth explanation of chemical weathering,
why it occurs, and how to identify this unique type of weathering, as opposed to
simply defining these terms and moving on. I can also include additional minerals
that uniquely react to high acidity levels to simulate how they would react in these
types of weather conditions, which would modify the skills the students learn and
need for this lesson. I can modify the content to include scientific reputable data
correlating the increased human industrialization throughout history with
increased levels of chemical erosion in minerals.
