General guidelines • The response must be in an essay format that consist between 500 and 500 words per question. The word count is a guideline and not an exact prescription. You are also encouraged to use other sources which must also be referenced. • The requirement of authenticity is important in the light of ease with which work could be copied and paraphrased, and in the light of the use of AI. Explore the dynamic relationship between these three ideas: Place: Think of "place" not just as a geographical location, but as a lived space. It includes the physical environment (land, climate), the cultural context (traditions, languages, values like Ubuntu), the history (colonialism, struggle, resilience), and the socio-economic realities of a community. Concepts: These are the building blocks of our thinking—ideas like "knowledge," "the child," "teacher," "intelligence," "discipline," "curriculum." Philosophy (of Education): This is the activity of thinking deeply and critically about education. How does the specific "place" you are in shape the "concepts" you use to think about education?
