Durban is one of South Africa’s most popular coastal tourist destinations. It is located
in the province of KwaZulu-Natal and is known for its warm climate, beaches, and
cultural diversity. Durban attracts both local and international tourists, especially
families who are looking for relaxation, entertainment, and affordable travel
experiences.
The city offers a range of family-friendly attractions such as uShaka Marine World,
Durban Beachfront, Moses Mabhida Stadium, Mitchell Park Zoo, and Suncoast
Casino and Entertainment World. These attractions provide both educational and
recreational experiences for visitors of all ages.
This essay evaluates the suitability of Durban’s infrastructure for family tourism. It
