a) Define digital divide- the discrepancy in access to information technology among

b) Explain the three stages of the digital divide
Economic divide - The divide between countries that have access to technology and the ones
that don’t.

i. Usability divide – this is the case in which even after people can afford technology,
that that technology is rather complicated and sometimes they don’t understand
how to use it even after they can afford it.

ii. Empowerment divide- Has to do with the fact that they are not using it to the full
potential of the technology. They may be using only 10 percent of the
functionability of a technology that they paid for.
