WGU D170 Task 1: 7th Grade Math
A1:
The class I will make a classroom management plan for would be for a middle school math class,
specifically 7th grade. Math in 7th grade covers a wide range of Subjects from algebra to data analysis.
The main purpose of the course will be to develop Learners' mathematical fluency, critical
thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
The two instructional activities relevant to my management plan would be math stations
and problem-based learning. Math stations allow students to engage in hands-on activities and
independent practice that reinforce the concepts being taught. Problem-based learning involves
presenting students with real-world or contextualized mathematical problems that require critical
thinking and applying mathematical concepts and having them work collaboratively in groups.

My 7th-grade math classroom is designed to facilitate both individual and collaborative
activities. The layout will have desks arranged in clusters or clusters to encourage collaboration
and collaboration. The teacher’s desk will be located at the front, to facilitate identification and
access to teaching materials. A central area or bulletin board will display important math
concepts, vocabulary, and student work. Materials such as textbooks, manipulatives, and
calculators are readily available in designated areas for students to access as needed.
The classroom structure can be adapted to accommodate different activities. For direct
instruction, desks should be arranged in customary rows facing each other, facilitating
instructional focus and note-taking. For study areas or group work, tables can be rearranged into
stations or groups, ensuring that students have room to work together. In addition, there will be
whiteboard stations around the room since studies show that thinking drastically increases when
