C773 – User Interface Design
A1. Analysis of Current Website Content and Its Limitations
The current website content does not adequately meet the needs of its target
audience. One major issue is that the information is presented in a manner
that is confusing and difficult to navigate. For instance, on the “Cat” page,
there is no clear header or introductory text to guide the visitor regarding the
type of information being presented. Although the content is organized
according to the age of the animal, this structure is not immediately apparent
to a first-time visitor. Without proper context or explanation, users may
quickly become disoriented and fail to find the information they need.
Additionally, the images used on the “FAQs” page contribute to confusion.
Several images depict snakes, which are not relevant to the primary focus of
the site, and this inconsistency undermines the credibility and clarity of the
content, as the imagery does not align with the titles or the expectations set
by the navigation links.
From the stakeholders’ perspective, the website similarly fails to meet critical
requirements. According to the project documentation, one key goal is the
ability for visitors to submit a contact form to request consultations or
services. Currently, the website lacks this functionality, creating a significant
barrier to converting visitors into clients. This limitation directly impacts the
stakeholders’ targets, which include attracting 100,000 new site visitors and
securing 150 new consults within the first year. Without a functioning contact
form, achieving these goals is virtually impossible. Furthermore, the
stakeholders have emphasized the importance of clearly presenting the
company brand, mission, and values on the website. At present, none of this
information is visible on the homepage, leaving visitors with little
understanding of the company’s identity, purpose, or unique value
proposition. This absence diminishes the website’s effectiveness in building
trust with potential clients and establishing a strong brand presence online.
