Cholinesterase Inhibitors: Donepezil and Rivastigmine
work by increasing levels of acetylcholine, a
neurotransmitter associated with memory and learning.
NMDA Receptor Antagonist: Memantine helps to
regulate glutamate activity, which can be neurotoxic in
excess, thus protecting brain cells.
Combination Medication: Memantine/donepezil
(Namzaric) combines the effects of both drug classes for
enhanced efficacy.
