Epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine are the hormones

5. What is type 1 diabetes and what is the treatment for this
disease?
Type 1 diabetes, IDDM, occurs when insulin genera&ng cells are
destroyed in the pancreas. IDDM is treated with insulin, generally
administered as a subcutaneous injec&on.

6. Describe how Ca2+ levels in the blood are regulated by hormones.
Ca2+ levels are regulated by the parathyroid hormone. PTH has
an effect on bones, intes&nes, and kidneys to maintain normal
levels.

The hypothalamus is the component that allows the nervous
system and the endocrine system to work in tandem.
