Value of social welfare practice Before discussing the value of social welfare practice, we will explore more specific details of the value discussed in the introduction. In the dictionary of social work, values were defined as "principles of norms of behavior that cultures, groups, and individuals consider desirable," and Williams (1960) called "concepts that justify choice as a criterion for preference and choice." Barlett argued that 'value is good and qualitative judgment with desirable emotions'. Taken together, value can be said to be a desirable criterion of choice and action to achieve a goal. Then, the value of social welfare is a good and correct standard based on the purpose of social welfare. Various interpretations and definitions of social welfare are given for each scholar and for each syllabus. But most people admit that the ultimate purpose of social welfare lies in the human-like lives of all human beings. In other words, the value of social welfare is the standard of behavioral judgment to achieve a human-like life, and thus the establishment of human dignity. In order to practice these social welfare values, human self-determination, equal opportunity, and social responsibility must be guaranteed. The right to self-determination is one of the most basic human rights to design and control one's own life. In addition, equal opportunities should create an environment for equitable opportunities and value realization regardless of the innate environment, such as gender, religion, and region of origin. Social responsibility is an area that is tied to the validity of human rights, and humans in society
