Strengths: Based on the class level, most of the students are good and competent users of reading and writing (band 7
grade). Which means:
• Most students have capable/advanced control with few errors in reading and writing.
• Most of the students have the ability to use sophisticated words, advanced grammar and can understand
challenging arguments in reading and writing.
Weaknesses: their listening and speaking are averaged below a band 6 grade.
• Limited control of language (reading and writing).
• Commit many errors and can have difficulty with general conversation.
Which two skills have you chosen to teach in this lesson? Why? (minimum 150 words)
• Speaking
• Listening
I have chosen to teach these two skills because they are the two areas that need improving the most. Both these skills
have an important role in the daily life of all students especially because most of the students want to improve in career
prospects or have a career in English speaking countries. To achieve this student’s need to be able to sustain effective
