P5 Explain the care strategies that can be used to support individuals with each of the
physiological disorders.
In this task I will be explaining the care strategies that can be used to support individuals
with physiological disorders .
What is a Care strategy ?
Care strategies are methods used in order to provide someone with a medical or chronic
condition.
Care strategies are used to support rehabilitation as well as enabling an individual to gain
support whilst maintaining their independence and dignity.
Strategies planning in health care organizations involves outlining the actions needed to
reach a specific goal. While there are different strategy types and levels, the purpose of all
strategies is to bring an organization’s actions into alignment with its stated mission or
values.
Examples of care strategies include Transplant , Medication,Rehabilitation programmes.
Alzheimer’s disease :
Some of the care strategies that can be used in Alzheimer’s include :
Healthy meal planning : Make sure that the health care user is eating the correct balanced
diet that is useful for their health .
Medication schedule : A schedule should be created where the service used can use their
medicine without missing any .
Physical exercise : Physical exercises like stretching, walking and yoga can be beneficial
as the service user will feel calm and ease and mobility movements fully enabled .
Socialisation: planned visits with family and friends .
Creative activities : including arts and crafts listening to or playing music
Create a safe environment : prevent falls ,use locks , check water temperature, take fire
safety precautions.
Caregivers cannot stop Alzheimer’s-related changes in personality and behavior, but they
can learn to cope with them.
Some care strategies that can help caregivers includes
● Keep things very simple. Ask or say one thing at a time.
● Have a daily routine that will help the service user know when certain things will
happen.
● Reassuring your patient that he or she is safe and you are there to help.
● Focus on the patient's feelings and ask them about it ,For example if they look
worried and sad you can say, “You seem worried.”
● Avoid arguing with the service user to promote effective communication and a
healthy and friendly environment.

● Avoid showing your frustration or anger about things to the service user ,If you get
upset it's safer to take deep breaths or leave the room for few minutes
● Empower them and encourage independence to an extent, it depends on the
individual’s health and things they are capable of .

Coronary heart disease care strategies includes
Below is a list of health care strategies to cope coronary heart disease;
Coronary heart disease can be prevented by following a strict healthy lifestyle which includes
;
● Avoid smoking or the use of tobacco
● Exercise daily
● Eat a heart healthy diet (vegetables and fruits, beans, whole grains e.t.c)
● Reduce the intake of; Salt, Sugar , Alcohol also saturated fat and full fat dairy
products
● Maintaining a healthy weight
● Good quality sleep
● Managing stress levels eg yoga

In this task I will be discussing care strategies that can be used to support individuals with
each of the psychological disorders.
Psychological disorders which includes :
Learning about the disease : Alzheimer’s disease varies so the first step to caring for a
service user with Alzheimer’s is knowing their stage of Alzheimer’s, it can either be Mild,
Moderate or Severe .
Mild :People who have mild or early stage Alzheimer’s disease can still function
independently. They can continue participating in professional and social activities.During
this stage, people may have difficulty concentrating or remembering recent events. They
may forget certain words or names.
Moderate :Moderate Alzheimer’s disease involves significant memory loss, confusion, and
physical symptoms.
They might exhibit symptoms such as:
