• Once the QR code is scanned, ensure your media volume is turned up and place your
smartphone next to you.
• The Invigilator App will notify you with a notification beep when you are required to take
action on a request, which you should then perform.
• We recommend that you keep your smartphone charged for the assessment duration. If
you only have one device, you may access your assessment in the application by
pressing the 'Access Exam' button in the top right corner of your app.
• Keep the Invigilator App open on your cell phone for the full duration of the assessment.
You are not allowed to minimise or leave the app.
• Ensure you are connected to the internet to commence the invigilation and at the end of
the assessment. No internet connection is required during the assessment.
• You must adhere to the assessment time limit communicated to you by your institution,
as the time displayed in the Invigilator App could differ from the time allocated to complete
your assessment.
• You can click the "Finish Assessment" button in the app if you finish your assessment
early.
• If you are performing a written upload assessment. Please note that you must only
upload your script to the myexam online portal.
• Should you encounter any Invigilator technical difficulties, please WhatsApp the Invigilator
Helpdesk on 073 505 8273. After completing invigilation and following all app instructions,
you must upload your Invigilation App data. Uploading app data is not time-sensitive, and
you can return and do it after successfully uploading your script to the exam portal.
In addition, please note the following:
• Please include your student number on your answer sheet.
• When submitting your document, start with the completed cover page stating the module
code (SCH4801), student number, and ID number (see Appendix A).
• This should be followed by your answers to the questions. Note that all the questions are
compulsory. There are no elective questions.
• Ensure that each question and sub-question is clearly numbered.
• Submit your answers in a single PDF document. You prefer to type your answers (Font:
Arial 12) in MS Word and convert your document to PDF for submission.
• You are allowed to access your prescribed works and the study material. You are,
however, not allowed to copy verbatim from your study material. You should provide

answers in your own words. In the case of any cheating or plagiarism, no marks will be
allocated.
• Follow the instructions set out in this assessment. It would be best if you answered the
questions in your own words. Plagiarism will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary
action if detected. Also, note that no marks will be awarded for providing the theory or an
explanation if copied and pasted from the prescribed book. We will run all take-home
exams through Turnitin before marking commences.
• Please note that handwritten or scanned documents will not be accepted as the
TURNITIN report cannot be generated in this file format.
• Ensure that your PDF document is NOT encrypted in a secured mode or password
protected, as these files cannot be marked. Virus-infected files will also not be marked.
• Please note that you must select the 'submission statement" (the declaration of honesty)
on the exam platform.
