From ‘The Revolution of Marriage’, a propaganda pamphlet published by the CCP in 1952.
Such pamphlets were circulated to the Chinese peasantry explaining the benefits of the
1950 Marriage Law.

Source A argues that women’s lives improved because of the Marriage Law.
Source B
From the account of an anonymous caller during a phone-in show on a Chinese state
radio programme, 1989.
