Nurse leaders play a vital role in improving healthcare. Our patients need leaders to help improve outcomes. The first task that I chose to discuss is alerting staff about the implications of changing what they do. The first thing that comes to mind is that the leader implementing the change must have an open line of communication with their staff. Communication is vital in promoting a healthy work environment, but it is also helpful with staff retention (Korth, 2016). I work in an outpatient primary care setting.
