, Brief introduction.
1- Do not forget to start by WIPE:
- Welcome the patient and Wash your hands.
- Introduce yourself and confirm the patient’s Identity.
- Privacy and patient’s Position.
- Explain the examination, obtain consent, and Expose the patient.
2- Do not to forget asking the patient about if s/he is feeling any pain, so
you start your examination in the normal side.
3- YOU have to say -at least- that you will start your examination by
general examination, and you will perform the systemic examination.
4- When you move to the sensory examination in particular, start by
Inspection.
5- Must of the examination needs to be done while the patient closes
his/her eyes.
6- DO NOT forget to compare both sides!
7- Start doing the examination distally.
8- Always start the examination by apply it at the beginning at the sternal
notch or forehead, for the patient to be familiar with the feeling.
