Disruptive innovations are essential in shaping the future of healthcare; two notable
examples of such innovations are the adoption of telemedicine and the implementation of
electronic health records (EHRs). Telemedicine is an innovation that involves utilizing virtual
services to meet with patients. This service enables broader access to care and breaks down
geographical barriers that otherwise would be a problem for certain patients. Prior to the
introduction of telemedicine, patients would have to travel to the office, which can be
particularly challenging for the elderly, those living in rural areas, individuals with mobility
