transportation as it is usually attached to someone. If a
cast is taken, this will not be done at the crime scene but usually a

food then the item is packed in a rigid container to prevent
damage.
• STORAGE casts stored in cool dry place. Food items will be
Bite Mark Analysis frozen.
• ANALYSIS experts can match bite marks to suspects and/or
dental records
• PERSONNEL INVOLVED forensic dentist / odontologist
• POSSIBLE PROBLEMS evidence degrading if not stored properly
(food items only), sometimes bite marks on
the skin are not visible to the naked eye. inadmissible if CJA info
not completed, can lose integrity if the scene
is not secured at the beginning
