Professor and Head, Department of Medicine, King George Medical College (1960
1977), Lucknow who as a medical philosopher par excellence and a teacher to the
core laid in me the seeds of this book.
It is dedicated to My Family who kept egging me on to complete this book.
As happens with a irst book, and one with a new approach, it gets modi ied on each
reading and with progressive teaching of its contents to successive generations of
