Baltimore, Maryland boasts a variety of crisis response resources or agencies to the
benefit and welfare of Baltimoreans. However, the community experiences gaps in
preventing, curbing and mitigating impacts of crisis for the community. This paper critically
compiles ten resources that responds to different types of crisis in my community
(Baltimore), and identification of one missing area of crisis intervention that could be of great
benefit to the community in its presence.

Emergency response facility is one important crises mitigation resource available in
Baltimore, Maryland. This type of resources consists of services like the Red cross and
firefighters which respond to emergency situations to promote welfare/wellbeing of
community members. The Baltimore Red Cross Blood and Platelet Donation Center - Mt.
Hope has its scope of service confined to the Baltimore Community, though extends its
services beyond the radius when the need crops. Among its key services include providing
relief and support desperate situations, including those facing outcomes of eminent crisis.
This resource provides aid and guidance to helping individuals, families and communities in
the verge of distinct crises to prepare for emergencies, such as relocating pending a foreseen
political crises or natural calamities like floods. It has also been extensively been involved in
mobilizing blood donation, in support of people in hospitals whose survival depend on it.
The Long Green Volunteer Fire Department and Maryland Line Fire Protective
Association are other important crises resources available in my community. These facilities
respond to fire-related emergencies, such as extinguishing/suppressing fires, rescue of
victims, and evacuation of those at risk, offering emergency medical services (e.g. first aid) to
victims of fire and other emergencies, like vehicle collisions and linking victims with
emergency healthcare, providing fire prevention education, among other services related to
these.
2. Crime Intervention (Police stations and call centers)
