In vielen Situationen kann eine zweite Sprache sehr nützlich sein. Beim Einkaufen
im Ausland ist es natürlich besser, wenn Touristen zum Beispiel Spanisch oder
Französisch sprechen.

In der Berufswelt verdient man oft mehr, wenn man mehr als eine Sprache sprechen
kann. Internationale Meetings sind nicht immer auf Englisch.

Englisch ist nötig als Computersprache. Man benutzt Deutsch aber oft bei der Musik

A man makes his way through a town.


So viele Menschen lebten in dieser Kleinstadt, aber niemand war auf der
Straße. Die Häuser waren leer und still, denn die Leute waren alle am
Fluss. Sie wollten die Boote sehen. Das war ideal.

In der Dunkelheit ging ein Mann in einem grauen Mantel über die Brücke
und dann rechts in eine kleine Straße. Die Gebäude waren fünf oder sechs
Etagen hoch. Nach fünfzig Metern sah er ein weißes Haus. Es war das
einzige mit einem offenen Fenster.

Der Mann kletterte hinein. Er stand in einem Wohnzimmer mit
eleganten Möbeln …
