CELL PHYSIOLOGY
, Cell Physiology
Cell is the structure and function unit of living being
living organisms are made up of group of cells
space outside the cell called extracellular space are inside the
cell called intracellular space
General characteristics of cell
1. Produce its own energy necessary for growth repair and other
activity.
2. Need nutrients and oxygen for above criteria.
3. Eliminate carbon dioxide and other metabolic waste
4. Maintain the medium i.e environmental for its survival
5. Show immediate response to organisms such as bacteria or
toxic substance
6. Reproduced by division
, Structure of cell:-
• Each cell is formed by a cell body and a membrane
covering the cell body called the cell membrane.
• cell body has two parts :- nucleus and cytoplasmus
• Thus the cell structure has three categories
1. cell membrane
2. cytoplasm
3. nucleus
Cell membrane:-
• Also known as plasma membrane.
• Protective sheet covering the cell body.
• It separate fluid outside the cell called extracellular
fluid and inside the cell called intracellular fluid
