Hypovolemic Shock: Absolute
Give this one a try later!
External loss of whole blood-hemorrhage from trauma, surgery, GI
bleeding
Loss of other body fluids-vomiting, diarrhea, excessive, diuresis, diabetes
insipidus, diabetes
Absolute hypovolemia: loss of intravascular fluid volume
• External loss of whole blood
, Hemorrhage from trauma, surgery, GI bleeding
• Loss of other body fluids
Vomiting, diarrhea, excessive diuresis, diabetes insipidus, diabetes
Transcatheter pulmonic valve replacement
Give this one a try later!
▪Used to repair valves from congenital heart disease
for pts who are at high risk for open heart surgery
-We can go in thru venous system and try to repair valves
Where are the Papillary muscle
Give this one a try later!
When contracted, prevents inversion or prolapse of the M and T valves
FFP vs cryoprecipitate
Give this one a try later!
FFP= has clotting factors in it. Can't just give blood and expect them to stop
bleeding
Cryo= all plasma water out of FFP ( just clotting factors) = only like 20 mL
,Sepsis 1 hour bundle

1. Measure lactate level. Remeasure if initial lactate elevated (>2).
2. Obtain blood cultures prior to administering antibiotics.
3. Administer broad spectrum antibiotics.
4. Begin rapid administration of 30ml/kg crystalloid for Hypotension N or
lactate >/= 4.
5. Administer vasopressors if Hypotension during or after fluid resuscitation
to maintain a MAP >/= 65.
Afterload

How clamped down or dilatated pt is
What is S1?
Give this one a try later!
closure of the mitral and tricuspid valves
"lubb"; beginning of systole
Management of Cardiogenic shock
, Give this one a try later!
•Prevent and treat cause
•ABCs
•2 large bore Ivs (probably will need central access)
•Improve myocardial perfusion
•Medication therapy
•Mechanical supports
•Inotropes (Epi= also a vasoconstrictor tho, so maybe not)
•Dobutamine= no vasoconstriction
•Diuretics (get rid of fluid)
What is the most common cause of valvular disorders in children/adolescents
Give this one a try later!
Congenital heart diseases
Adults w heart disease will have aortic stenosis and mitral valve
regurgitation.
Other causes of valve disease in adults = AIDS, HIV, use of antiparkinsonian
drugs
•Lund and Browder Method
