EC Duties - ✔✔Responsible for ensuring EPs get implemented as necessary, have total authority
in Emergency situations
• Protecting Reed College personnel and visitors
• Placing the reactor in a safe shutdown condition
• Terminating or minimizing releases of radioactive materials
• Assessing the severity of the emergency event
• Authorizing reentry following evacuation of the facility
• Authorizing exposures in excess of 10 CFR 20
• Notifying government agencies of a classified event
• Terminating the emergency
• Planning and conducting protective and recovery actions
