Purpose and Perspective of the Chapter
The purpose of this chapter is to give readers a detailed description of the meaning of
leadership. Although most readers have somewhat studied leadership, they can benefit from a
refresher and an update. Another important purpose of the chapter is to explain the various
leadership (not management) roles and the various rewards and frustrations contained in those
roles.
