To Change or to Settle: Worthy Careers in the 21st Century
We all know the pressure all too well. It is instilled and engraved into our minds since the
beginning of adolescence – we are trapped in a pressure-cooker of decisions and traps of
choosing a righteous and viable career plan. There is an abundance of attractive and
ostentatious roles consistent with our human need to better our lives financially; lawyers,
doctors, surgeons and politicians. All roles with a rubber-stamped assurance of fame, glory,
wealth and power. As we grow older, we are unattracted to ideals of innate creativity and
wonder for the world and become compressed into boxes of respected careers. This isn't the
end of human originality, however. We can break this cycle of suppressed creativity with a
simple reassertion that our lives are ours to determine. It is paramount that we respect this
individual right.
