NNAAP (National Nurse Aide Assessment Program) - ANS NA test as determined by OBRA
with the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act to set standards across the board for NAs.
Pearson VUE - ANS Written/Oral and Skills test for certification as a NA. Includes a 30
minutes skills test for 5 skills. Everyone must test on Hand Hygiene.
Oral Exam: - ANS MUST BE REQUESTED at application submission.
Eligibility for the exam: - ANS 1. Complete application
2. Successful completion of NA I curriculum
3. Successful completion of Clinicals
Time limits on testing/certification - ANS Must take within 2 years with 3 total attempts.
Refresher certification: - ANS 1. State approved community college
2. Pass test within 2 years/3 attempts of course.
What is needed to apply? - ANS 1. Proper ID-2 forms (must be current).

Exam Fees: - ANS Written Examination and Skills- $101
Oral Exam and Skills-$101
Written only- $24
Oral only- $24
Skills only- $77
Testing Facility - ANS state-approved; will be set up like skills lab
Accommodations: - ANS Offered under ADA for those that have a documented disability.
Can include:
separate testing room
extra testing time
Reader/Recorder for mobility/vision impairments, etc.
Considered case by case with supporting documentation and past accommodation usage.
(if anyone feels they need this and don't know how to go about it, talk to me. It was my career!)
Cancellation/Re-Scheduling: - ANS 9 days ahead is required for a one time re-scheduling
without penalty.
Can reschedule within 24 hours (i.e. if you need to retake it)
