olanzapine uses and teaching - --antipsychotic medication that is used to treat psychotic
conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (manic depression) in adults and children
at least 13 years old

-atomoxetine s/s and teaching - -- appetite and growth suppression, GI effects (n/v, upper
abdominal pain, suicidal ideations in children and adolescents, hepatotoxicity(flu like
symptoms), headache, insomnia, irritability. Take medication with food.

-methylphenidate uses and side effects - -- sold under the trade name Ritalin among others, is
a stimulant medication used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and
narcolepsy
- insomnia, restlessness, weight loss, growth suppression, cardiovascular effects, hallucinations,
paranoia, withdrawal reaction, hives, CNS depression, bleeding.

-fluoxetine uses, teaching and adverse effects - --SSRI
-It can treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bulimia nervosa, and panic
disorder
-do not stop taking suddenly, can take 1-3 weeks to take effect and up to 2 months for
maximum response
-Avoid hazardous activity until you know how you will respond
- AE's: n/v, headache, agitation, insomnia, anxiety, sexual dysfunction
- Follow a healthy diet, weight gain can occur, monitor for SI.

-Paroxetine uses and teaching - --SSRI
-used to treat depression, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety
disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder
-avoid with grapefruit juice and high fat foods decrease absorption

-Dextroamphetamine (adderall) teaching - -- administer immediately during or after meals
