NRNP 6645 WEEK 3 Assignment - Analyzing Group Therapy Techniques
It has been shown that positioning chairs such that people in the group face each other can be an effective strategy for group therapy and that was the technique that was implemented in this case. Everyone was encouraged to participate and felt included thanks to the set-up. Members were more motivated since they could see each other's faces. Therapists' ability to develop their own unique, improvised approaches is another method that has been put on display. Having a safe space where people felt comfortable voicing their thoughts and concerns boosted the level of discourse. Members contributed meaningfully to the conversation, established connections with one another, and provided Jimmy with sound advice. The group realized what was wrong and helped him feel better while also reassuring him of his strength. Because of the productive discussion and members' recognition of the emergence of a problem, group therapy approaches were presented.
