Block design: How do you present the items? - CORRECT ANSWER - 1) Participation:
Items 1-3 are presente as a model you construct from the pictured design in the stimulus book.
The model is left intact as the child constructs the design according to the pictured design and the
model.
Item 4-13 are presented as pictured in the stimulus book.


2) Present only the number of blocks that are needed.


3) Place the blocks with a variety of surfaces facing up. For item 1-3 each block should have a
different side facing up.
For Items with 4 block, there should be only one red and one white facing up.
For items with 9 blocks, there should be only two red and two white facing up.


4) The stimulus book should be close enough to them and on the same side as their writing hand.
During items 1-3 the model should be directly next to the stimulus book, and on the opposite side
of their writing hand.

happens. Do not correct further.
Rotations of under 30 degrees are not considered errors, but may be noted for interpretive
purposes.
Score using: clockwise or anticlockwise arrows and >30 degrees.


2) Gap and Misalignment Errors
Gaps larger than 1/4 inch are penalised.
Misalignment that exceeds 1/4 inch are penalised.


3) Where a child might put 3 blocks in a row when constructing a 2x2 design. Only penalise at
the time-limit.
