Organisations typically have three levels of management:
1. Operational (Lower-Level) Management
These managers supervise day-to-day activities and ensure routine tasks are
completed efficiently. They focus on short-term goals, staff supervision, and
performance tracking (Robbins & Coulter, 2022).
2. Middle Management
Middle managers translate strategic objectives into actionable plans. They
coordinate departments, monitor performance, and support operational
management (Daft, 2021).
3. Top (Strategic) Management
Executives at this level set long-term goals, define policies, and provide the
strategic direction of the organisation. They include roles such as CEOs and
board members (Jones & George, 2020).

A Database Management System (DBMS) provides the following decision support:
Real-time access to data: Supports accurate decision-making through up-to-
date information (Elmasri & Navathe, 2017).
