1. TERMS OF REFERENCE
This report was commissioned on 1 October 2025 by Ms Tancred, the Chairperson of
the Civic Organisation in Soshangana township.
I, [Your Name], a member of the Civic Organisation, was requested to carry out an
investigation into possible ways to get an adequate and consistent supply of water for
the residents of Soshangana township.
The purpose of this report is to identify solutions to the water crisis that continues to
negatively affect the lives of the people living in the township, many of whom are
unemployed and rely on social grants. The findings and recommendations in this report
will be submitted to the Chairperson on or before 30 November 2025.
2. PROCEDURES
To gather information for this investigation, I used the following methods:
2.1. Interviews with community members
To hear directly from the people who are affected by the water shortage and understand
how they are currently coping.
2.2. Meeting with Municipal Officials
To find out why the municipality has not addressed the water issue and to get insights
on what challenges they face.
