- 27th august it became a category 3 with top wind speeds of 115 mph
- 29th august it became a category 4 with the most powerful Atlantic storm on
record
- A storm surge more than 26 feet slammed into the coastal cities of Gulfport,
Biloxi, Missipi

- Afternoon of 29th 20% of the city industrial canal was underwater
- August 30th – 80% of the city was underwater The economic cost of
